The Connemara Pony is a native breed to Ireland. They originate from the rugged and beautiful landscape of the Connemara region in the west of Ireland. They were a vital part of life in rural Ireland in years gone by. They were used on the farm for ploughing, a mode of transport, a mount for hunting and also competed at the local shows with the children. Today the Connemara pony has evolved into a world-renowned sports pony, where they are seen competing at the top of their discipline.

Here at Gloria Nolan Connemara ponies were are passionate about our  ponies. We want to share our love of the Connemara pony. We run tours at our farm here in Co. Carlow, Ireland.  This is where you can meet and greet with our beautiful Connemara Ponies and get insight into our operations.

irish show ponies

“Equipeople has taken a number of student groups from overseas to visit Gloria’s yard and it is always one of the highlights of the tour. Gloria shows us some of her lovely ponies and then rides them to show the students how she trains and prepares the ponies for their future career. Gloria is very knowledgeable, a lovely rider and very good at presenting to groups. I hope that we will continue to bring groups of students to Gloria’s yard for many years to come, she has a lot to offer.”
